Physiotherapy at Alliance

Physiotherapists evaluate, restore, and maintain physical function, with an advanced understanding of how the body moves and what keeps it from moving well. A thorough assessment — health history, movement patterns, pain, strength, range of motion, reflexes, and sensation — informs a customized plan combining manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, and technology such as ultrasound. Physiotherapists emphasize independence: home exercise, goal-setting, and prevention of future injury.

Your visit

Starting physiotherapy at Alliance

What to expect

Your first physiotherapy appointment is an opportunity to explain what is limiting you and what you want to do more comfortably. Assessment may include movement, strength, balance and functional tasks. Your physiotherapist can discuss an approach that fits your findings and goals.

Getting ready

Wear clothing that allows you to move comfortably. Bring relevant reports and any post-operative instructions. It helps to describe what has changed, which movements are difficult and the work, sport or daily activities you want to return to.

Appointments and billing

Choose your practitioner and appointment type on Jane to check current fees, lengths and availability. Contact reception to confirm direct billing and any plan requirements before your visit.

Your physiotherapy questions

Can I book an initial physiotherapy appointment at Alliance?

Yes. Choose a physiotherapist above, open their Jane booking page and select the appropriate initial appointment if available. Contact reception if you are unsure which appointment type to choose.

What happens at a first physiotherapy visit?

Expect questions about your symptoms, health history and goals, followed by an assessment. Your physiotherapist may check movement, strength or balance and discuss treatment options and a plan.

What should I wear to physiotherapy?

Choose comfortable clothing that lets you move and allows the relevant area to be assessed. Ask reception before your appointment if you have questions about what to bring or wear.

Can physiotherapy support recovery after surgery?

Contact reception to discuss your procedure and timing and ask about the appropriate physiotherapist. Bring your surgeon’s instructions so any rehabilitation can respect your restrictions and recovery plan.

Will I receive exercises to do between visits?

Exercise or activity guidance may form part of your plan when appropriate. Ask your physiotherapist to explain the purpose, how to do it and when to review or adjust it.

How long is an appointment and what does it cost?

Appointment lengths and fees vary by practitioner and appointment type. Check your selected appointment on Jane or ask reception for the current fee and length before confirming. No single clinic-wide price applies to every service.

Do I need a referral to book?

Ask reception about requirements for your selected appointment. Your insurer or funding program may have separate referral or documentation rules, so confirm those before your visit.

Is direct billing available for this appointment?

Direct billing depends on the service, practitioner, insurer and your plan. Ask reception to confirm your specific arrangement; you may be responsible for any amount your plan does not pay.
