Condition

Pregnancy-Related Pain & Tension

Pelvic, low back, hip, and pubic pain during pregnancy often arise from the sacro-iliac and symphysis pubis joints as pregnancy hormones loosen supporting ligaments; mid-back and neck pain are also common as spinal load shifts.

How Alliance can help

Registered massage, chiropractic care, craniosacral therapy, and acupuncture can ease pain; physiotherapy and active rehabilitation help build strength and prevent recurrence.

Preparing for care

Comfort and movement during pregnancy

Share your stage of pregnancy, symptoms, advice from your maternity care team and any activity restrictions. Tell reception that you are pregnant so you can discuss appropriate booking and positioning.

Bring your goals

Describe the daily tasks, work or activities you want to do more comfortably. Share what you have already tried and any care you are receiving elsewhere.

Ask about your plan

Ask what the assessment shows, which options fit your circumstances and when progress will be reviewed. Discuss how another discipline could contribute if appropriate.

Choose your next step

Browse the relevant service team and practitioner profiles. Reception can help with the appointment type, fees and billing arrangements.

Questions before your appointment

Which practitioner should I book for pregnancy-related pain?

Tell reception your stage of pregnancy and what you would like assessed, and ask which practitioner and appointment type fit that concern. Keep your maternity care team involved, particularly for new or changing symptoms.

What happens at an initial assessment?

Your practitioner will discuss your symptoms, health history and goals, assess what is appropriate and explain the options. Ask what findings mean for your daily activities and when your progress should be reviewed.

Can more than one practitioner be involved in my care?

Alliance brings different disciplines together in one clinic. If another perspective may be helpful, discuss a coordinated plan, your preferences and how information will be shared with your consent.

How do I confirm fees and insurance before booking?

Review the chosen appointment on Jane and contact reception about billing. Your plan may have requirements that depend on the service and practitioner.
