This procedure relaxes the muscles and results in both a reduction of the targeted wrinkles and prevention of new wrinkles from forming. Additionally, the medical applications of botulinum toxin have become increasingly popular over the last decade, and include the treatment of several conditions such as chronic migraine, hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating), TMJ (TMD) disorders, etc. The cost of Botox for migraine treatment is covered by some insurance companies provided the specific criteria for chronic migraine headache is met: 15 or more days headache per month (4 hours or more of headache per day), with migraines on at least 8 of those days. Eligibility could be discussed during the consultation session.
